The contest “Design a scenario for altreforme”, proposed last December by altreforme, awarded the talent and the creativity of Domus Academy students'. The aim was to create an “altreforme city”, an exclusive place characterized by unique settings furnished by the collection of monolithic limited edition products designed by Aziz Sariyer and the monza mirror, design Valentina Fontana. These refined and exclusive products are the protagonist of striking and different scenarios, reflecting the high-end positioning of the brand and the exclusivity of altreforme products. The selection process is based on three categories: the best setting, the best altreforme product interpretation and the outstanding idea. The winner for the category best setting is the project “Wave”, designed by the Korean team Yoo Joo Hee, Yoon Jae Hyun and Choi Song Yi, where the refined altreforme collection- the multi-unit chair liquirizia, the console table mariu', the bookcase cioccolata designed by Aziz Sariyer and the monza mirror designed by Valentina Fontana – gives an elegant touch to an haute couture boutique. For the category the best altreforme product interpretation, the winners is “altrefunzione a luxury boutique for PRADO”, designed by the Korean students Han Sang Yeon and Koh Hyunjee and the Indian student Kshirsagar Sneha. In this project the collection designed by Aziz Sariyer, here presented in black finishing, together with the monza mirror, in aluminium finishing, are interpreted in a boutique concept which enhances its contemporary lines. Finally for the category outstanding idea, the first prize goes to the three students of Taiwan Chang Yu Ting, Hsieh Wan Ju and Wu Ming Hsien for “Squeezing”, a peculiar green scenario, where the multi-unit chiair liquirizia is as an aluminium coloured tempera coming out of an odd tube. The shortlisted team are: Galvis/Morones/Sanchez/Estevez and Benvenuti/Freda/Schadmi for the category best setting, Huh/Jung/Lee and Yeh/Wei/Ho for the best altreforme product interpretation and finally the Serbian Sijan and the Taiwanese Chiang for the outstanding idea. The winner team of each category is awarded during the Fuori Salone 2010: the altreforme event “Challenging Aluminium”, on stage at Superstudio Piu', dedicates a part of the installation to the projection of the shortlisted scenarios. With the contest "Design in scenario for altreforme" the brand confirms its international talent and its role of contemporary company always interested in new inspiration, opening an interesting dialogue with the young design creativity.
